Mind over Machine

Balanced software systems — that doesn't run wild

Mind over Machine Regenerative software in practice

We are a non-profit foundation combining a think tank, a laboratory, and a community of practice. Our mission is to explore and share regenerative approaches to software development that create a net positive long-term value for people and humanity.

MoM is organizing a series of three free events on EU's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and its implications for software manufacturers, it's impact on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and a simple path to oversee the challenges of CRA compliance through a simple FOSS tool developed by the MoM community.

What we do

Three pillars of our work

Think tank: Thought leadership

We devlop, analyse, reserch and publish open end free materials about regenerative software development, system thinking, ethics, and long-term healthy development practices.

Community of Practice: Legitimate peripheral participation

We run events and conversations where practitioners test ideas, share learnings, and shape better software culture.

Laboratory: Experiments and membership engagement

We test assumptions and hypotheses about regenerative principles in collaborative circles with members and academia.

Our Web

Our Web

Every technology has a culture. Over 30 years, the Web has drifted from a shared productivity platform designed by Tim Berners-Lee, towards a machine of "social media", ad campaigns and global consumption. The cognitive offloading effect of AI is now 'critically endangering' it before it had a chance to evolve. We are here to preserve it.

Why OSS Stewardship Now

Why OSS Stewardship Now

The EU's Cyber Resilience Act is live. If your commercial product uses FOSS, your obligations just changed. Open Source Software Stewardship is no longer optional.

MoM's Love Letter to the Hybrid Intelligence Manifesto

MoM's Love Letter to the Hybrid Intelligence Manifesto

The Hybrid Intelligence Manifesto makes a rigorous case for keeping human judgment economically indispensable in an AI-accelerated world. This is Mind over Machine's open love letter to that vision, and a practical breakdown of how high-level theory meets the messy reality of software development.
